Black Necked Swan

Black Necked Swan

Our Black Necked Swan cygnets hatched at the zoo March 18.  They are now very visible as they are constantly swimming alongside their parents in the lake next to the Flooded Forest Pavilion in the Amazon and Beyond exhibit.  Though they are the smallest of the swan species, they are the largest waterfowl found in South America.  Like other swans, they are monogamous, usually mating for life.
