Samburu Giraffe Feeding Station

The Samburu Giraffe Feeding Station, open every day from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., gives visitors the opportunity to walk up a custom built ramp that leads to an elevated platform overlooking the African Plains exhibit.  For the first time at the zoo, visitors can view a giraffe's 14-inch long tongue as it extends out to gently take food out of their hands while getting a close look at what many consider the most beautiful eyelashes in nature.  For a small price, guests can feed our giraffes delicious veggie treats like romaine or iceberg lettuce, kale or collard greens.

And what better way to preserve the memory of your visit than with a photo?  For only $5, you and your family can have a photo taken with a professional camera as you feed these beautiful animals!  There’s no wait, either.  You can have it developed and in your hand in under one minute! The memento has a beautiful African-themed border which will remind you of your unique experience for a long time to come!
