Enrollment is on a weekly basis 

June 15 – July 31
Ages 4-10
 (No camp on Fri, July 3)

July 20 - July 31
Ages 11-13

   
9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.
Monday through Friday
Morning and afternoon snacks provided.
Campers must bring their own lunches with drinks from home.
$160 per week for members; $180 per week for non-members

Drop off and extended care:

  • Morning drop-off: 8:30- 8:50 A.M.; Camp starts promptly @ 9:00 am!
  • Extended care: 4:00 P.M. – 5:30 P.M.  Cost: $35.00 per week per child.

Registration:

  • Pre-registration is required and space is limited.
  • Registration is processed on a first come, first served basis, and is due by
    12:00 P.M. of the Wednesday preceding the week to be attended. A $10 late
    fee per child will be assessed after that.
  • Groups are arranged by age, at camp staff discretion.
  • Completed registration and medical forms must be submitted with payment
    by fax or mail.

  • A confirmation letter will be sent when processing is completed.

Refunds, cancellations and other fees:

  • Refunds may be requested until 3:00 P.M. of the Friday preceding the week to be attended, and are subject to a $20 cancellation fee.  After Friday, no credits or refunds will be issued for the following week.
  • A $5.00 fee is applied for each date change. 

Discounts:

  • $5.00 discount per child for additional weeks.

  • There are limited scholarships available for BANK OF AMERICA ZOOFARI SUMMER CAMP
  • These programs have certain eligibility requirements.

Camp activities:

  • Presentations with live animals and animal skulls, teeth and skins.
  • Visits to animal exhibits and meeting with zookeepers.
  • Close encounters with animals from the Children’s Zoo collection.
  • Preparation of special treat for animal enrichment, followed by a visit to watch the animals enjoy their gifts.
  • Arts and crafts.
  • Sprinkler playtime.
  • Playground time.
  • Indoor themed games.

IN A WHILE, CROCODILE!!

Many of us are just fascinated by these scaly creatures known as reptiles.  During this Zoo Camp session you will take a close look at this unique animal group that includes the alligator, mata-mata and Komodo dragon.
 

M IS FOR MAMMALS

June 22-26
July 13-17

Some mammals are not exactly covered with fur during their entire lives, because since there is more to mammals than a fuzzy wrapper! Join us and have a great time discovering interesting facts about some furry and not so furry mammal residents at the zoo.
 

OUR FEATHERED FRIENDS

June 29 - July 2 (No camp on July 3)

They all have feathers, but not all birds fly. Besides this distinction, their eating habits, habitats and group behavior may vary widely between different species. Join us to explore the diverse world of our beautiful feathered friends.

ANIMAL OLYMPICS!

Some animals crawl, some fly, run or swim, and others do not move at all! Campers will learn how some amazing living creatures make use of a variety of skills as part of their survival strategies in their native habitats.
 
 

HOW DO ANIMALS SEE?

June 22-26

Do all animals see in the same way that we do? Is sight equally important for all creatures? Children will have a phenomenal time in Zoo Camp, exploring the interesting ways animals see the world around them.
 

DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR?

June 29 - July 2 (No camp on July 3)
July 20-24

Some animals can sense danger and warn others even before they see a predator. Some are also able to locate their “buddies” even when they are not in sight. No language skills or phones required! Campers will have an awesome week finding out how animals convey vital messages to each other.  
 

Ages 11-13

CONSERVATIONIST JUNIOR

Many animal species have been saved from extinction because concerned people took action and helped animal populations and their habitats. There are endangered species of animals that live right here at the zoo, and during this week of camp, children will find out what is being done to help them in the wild, and what they can do, too!  
 

BEING PART OF THE ZOO TEAM

July 27-31
This week is devoted to inspiring and educating children about wildlife conservation, regardless
of their future career choice.  Campers will have a great time understanding what it takes to house thousands of animals at the zoo: from planning and designing exhibits, caring for animals, landscaping, to visitor services. They will learn what it means to be a part of the zoo team and may decide to turn their interest for animals into a career.
