Elephant Awareness Week at Zoo Miami will kick off our Asian elephant Nellie’s 12th year at Zoo Miami! Nellie has resided at Zoo Miami since December, 2000 and will be celebrating her anniversary with her best elephant pal - Maude. Maude and Nellie have been together since February, 2011. Come celebrate elephants December 8 - 16, 2012 and consider purchasing unique gifts made by them. All proceeds will benefit the International Elephant Foundation (www.ief.org) to help conserve elephants in the wild.
