Meet the Zookeeper
A great way to see our animals in action! At these zookeeper talks (located at their respective exhibits), you can witness our animals eating their favorite treats and learn about them from their keepers. It's the perfect opportunity to ask the questions you've always wanted answered about your favorite animal.

Asia or Africa Safari Tram Tours
Take a 45-minute Safari Tour along the public walkways and behind the scenes. Schedule and pricing available at the front ticket booths and Main Station. The tram runs daily but is subject to weather conditions.

Humpy's Camel Rides
Camel rides are available for $5/ride from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily. High a top a graceful camel, riders experience the traditional form of transportation used by the desert people of Africa and Asia for thousands of years. Meet Charlie, Fluffy, and Randy, the three trained dromedary camels that you can hop on! Decide which boy is your favorite, each have different personalities and range in age.
Wildlife Carousel
The Zoo Miami Wildlife Carousel is a 36-foot wooden carousel featuring 30 hand-carved, custom-made animals and two chariots. Many of the animals represent endangered species, including a cheetah, rhinoceros and baby gorilla.
The Zoo Miami Wildlife Carousel is reminiscent of the hundreds of wooden carousels built across the country during the "golden age" of carousels (1885- 1925).

The Hippo Slide
The Hippo Slide, considered the world’s largest inflatable water slide at 36' high, 47' wide and 175' long, is back! You will have a wonderful, fun experience.
The slide is located at the Wings of Asia Aviary tent pad.

Starting September 1, 2012, the Hippo Slide will be open weekends and holidays ONLY !
Note: The slide will be closed when the weather is below 70 degrees and/or windy, and during the winter months will be a dry sliding adventure only.
Participant must be 42” tall to slide.
Please note: it's "feet-first" sliding only & no double sliding.
